ROCK AND ROLL HOF’ERS WITH THEIR OWN MUSICAL!
The Four Seasons – Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi – got their start in the mid-1950s with a doo-wop, falsetto, tribal style that helped to define a new generation of youth: the Baby Boomers. They hit the pop charts 40 times in the 1960s, surviving the onslaught of the “British Invasion,” but eventually downsized to two, Valli and Gaudio, a partnership which endures to this day.
By 1974, Valli was back as a solo performer, and a year later the group reunited for two more years, before breaking up in 1977. Into the disco era, Valli reached new chart-topping heights with a triple-platinum hit: the title song from the musical Grease.
Valli and Gaudio reformed The Four Seasons with two new members in 1980 and began recording and touring. In 1990, The Four Seasons were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
