National Tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert Opens Tonight

The national tour of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT (pictured above) officially opens at Minneapolis’ Orpheum Theatre tonight (January 9). The show features an array of favorite disco numbers and is based on the popular 1994 film of the same name. Fiona Shaw to Return to Broadway in THE TESTAMENT OF MARY

Award-winning stage and screen actress Fiona Shaw will return to the New York stage this spring in THE TESTAMENT OF MARY. The show begins performances March 26 with the official opening April 22 and will run for a twelve-week limited engagement. (broadwayworld.com) Read more.

ALADDIN is Headed to Broadway

As previously reported, MRRY POPPINS will close on Broadway in March and there have been rumors of another Disney show, ALADDIN, taking its place. Yesterday, it was announced that ALADDIN will, in fact, be headed to the New Amsterdam Theater on Broadway. It was also revealed that “the version of ALADDIN that hits Broadway next year will be substantially overhauled and will not be a transfer of the 5th Avenue production.” (broadwayworld.com) Read more.
