Services for Guests with Disabilities

The theaters offer barrier-free environments for your theater-going convenience. Seating locations, restrooms and drinking fountains are provided for wheelchair guests.

Audio Description for Visually Impaired Guests

Audio description for individuals who are visually impaired is available for select performances courtesy of the Cleveland Sight Center. This service provides an opportunity for guests with impairment to listen to a description of the non-verbal aspects of a live performance.

A trained audio describer communicates the set design, costumes, facial expressions, body language, and movement of the actors during pauses in the dialogue. Small, closed circuit receivers are used to broadcast this live from the sound booth to an earpiece worn by visually impaired guests; other guests do not hear this information.

The Cleveland Sight Center will try to accommodate special requests made for additional performance dates. Please call 216-791-8118, ext. 303, two weeks in advance to make a special request for additional dates.

Headsets for Hearing Impaired Guests

For our hearing impaired guests, headsets are available to enhance your audio theater experience. To obtain one, please visit the House Manager’s office prior to the show. You will be required to leave a photo ID at that time. Upon conclusion of the show, please return the headset and pick up your ID.

Accessible Seating

To better serve our guests, tickets are available for those that require special seating needs. These tickets can be purchased by calling our Ticket Office directly at 216-771-8403, by visiting the Ticket Office located in the State Theatre Lobby or by filling out our online form.**

**Please advise the Ticket Office of your need for wheelchair pickup curbside when ordering tickets.
