Educators
PlayhouseSquare understands that your time with your students is precious. We have a variety of arts-based learning opportunities to fit your needs and schedule, as well as professional development events to provide you with new ideas, lesson plans and activities.
Field Trips
Introduce your students to the performing arts with a field trip to a Children’s Theater Series for Schools performance. We offer a diverse selection of shows to fit every taste and curriculum.
Discovering the Performing Arts for Middle School Students and Exploring the Performing Arts for High School Students offer interactive workshops in the performing arts.
Performers from our Broadway Series and other shows lead instructional master classes. Participants must be advanced students or professionals in the genre unless otherwise noted. Ages 14 and up only, please. Others are welcome to observe. Most master classes are provided free of charge.
Partners in Performance
Partners in Performance is a partnership between a school or district and the Community Engagement & Education Department at PlayhouseSquare. Partner schools and districts are eligible for priority seating at school performances, bus subsidies and more. It’s easy to become a Partner in Performance- simply book a field trip to a Children’s Theater Series for Schools show for at least 15% of your district’s total enrollment.
Distance Learning
In partnership with WVIZ/PBS and 90.3 WCPN ideastream®, we offer distance learning programs for high school and college students. Connect them with masters in the performing arts, Cleveland Arts Prize winners, arts executives and touring performers through BackStage withSM and Careers in the Performing Arts.
