PlayhouseSquare District Development Corporation (PDDC)
The PlayhouseSquare District Development Corporation (PDDC) is the governing entity of the PlayhouseSquare District. The district signifies a collaborative group of building owners and property stakeholders that strengthen the economic vitality, livability and commerce of the area.
The PlayhouseSquare District continues to evolve into a vibrant destination reflecting a variety of entertainment, dining, residential living, a hub of new technology companies and real estate development.
In 1998, the PlayhouseSquare District became the first Business Improvement District in downtown Cleveland and since then, new investments of more than $60 million has occurred throughout the district. In addition, the PlayhouseSquare District championed safety patrols and beautification efforts throughout the neighborhood and elevated Star Plaza – the area’s outdoor urban park – to one of Cleveland’s premiere places to visit with free events and concerts.
