Alonzo King LINES Ballet
San-Francisco based Alonzo King LINES Ballet will perform Saturday, January 26 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, January 26th at 3:00 pm in the Ohio Theatre. DANCECleveland calls their movement gorgeous, sophisticated and full of fluid athleticism. The dancers’ flawless technique mixed with the expressive choreography of Alonzo King creates a performance that is like no other. Staying true to the company name, the lines created by the dancers fill the stage with their expansive graceful power. Alonzo King has created more than 170 ballets, with his choreography often being described as “the most sophisticated modernism in classical dance.” The movement draws on deeply rooted cultural traditions, imbuing classical ballet with new expressive potential. San Francisco Cronical boasts; “Alonzo King is one of the few bona fide visionaries in the ballet world today.”
