The Chicago-based Lucky Plush Productions will take the stage for three performances at the Allen Theatre, Thursday May 2, Friday May 3, and Saturday May 4th all at 8:00 pm. The modern theatrical dance company is described by DANCECleveland as playful, fresh and amusingly comical. Adding a theatrical element to modern dance, Lucky Plush will offer a lively spin on the noir film Gaslight in their performance of The Better Half. Created by company founder and Artistic Director Julia Rhoads with Leslie Buxbaum Danzig of 500 Clown, The Better Half mixes comedy with dance and has been described as “immensely likeable and engrossing.” Lucky Plush was founded in 1999 and has become known for its witty commentary on contemporary culture and artful integration of dance, theater and visual design. The Chicago Tribune names it; “One of the most accessible exercises in modern dance you’ll ever see.”

Children Policy:
Children under two years old are generally not permitted in the theaters. At designated performances Children of all ages are permitted. However, everyone regardless of age must have a ticket. All children must be seated with an adult. Any person disrupting a performance or inhibiting the enjoyment of an event for guests may be removed from the theater without refund.

Where do we park?

The PlayhouseSquare Garage is located at East 15th and Chester with elevators located on each level and a walkway to the complex. PlayhouseSquare has kept event night parking affordable for our customers. Parking can be purchased for the on-site PlayhouseSquare garage for just $12.00 ($10.00 advance purchase). Do you need to purchase tickets by phone or in-person?

The Ticket Office is located in the State Theatre lobby and is open Monday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Hours vary when we have an evening performance and will also vary during the summer months. To confirm operating hours call the Ticket Office information line at 216-771-8403. Tickets may also be purchased by phone Monday - Sunday from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. at 216-241-6000 or 866-546-1353.
