The Scent of Change

Birth. Coming of age. Marriage. Death. Age old traditions. Do they anchor or drown us? Can they change to reflect our differences, or remain untouched? The Scent of Change examines how these four traditional rites of passage must adjust to reflect the increasing diversity of our culture. The Scent of Change is a deeply touching piece that will stay with you for years to come. Winner of the 2012 Porter Fleming Literary Competition; this special two weekend event is not to be missed! Not recommended for ages 13 & under. 

Children Policy:
Children under two years old are generally not permitted in the theaters. At designated performances Children of all ages are permitted. However, everyone regardless of age must have a ticket. All children must be seated with an adult. Any person disrupting a performance or inhibiting the enjoyment of an event for guests may be removed from the theater without refund.

PlayhouseSquare is located in Cleveland's theater district located on Euclid Avenue, between East 14th and East 17th Streets. Where do we park?

The PlayhouseSquare Garage is located at East 15th and Chester with elevators located on each level and a walkway to the complex. PlayhouseSquare has kept event night parking affordable for our customers. Parking can be purchased for the on-site PlayhouseSquare garage for just $12.00 ($10.00 advance purchase). Do you need to purchase tickets by phone or in-person?

The Ticket Office is located in the State Theatre lobby and is open Monday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Hours vary when we have an evening performance and will also vary during the summer months. To confirm operating hours call the Ticket Office information line at 216-771-8403. Tickets may also be purchased by phone Monday - Sunday from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. at 216-241-6000 or 866-546-1353.
