Creole for Kidz and the History of Zydeco

Grammy award winning Terrance Simien and his eclectic Zydeco Experience band mates have toured the globe with their unique mix of the varied rich indigenous music forms of Louisiana: zydeco-funk meets Afro-Caribbean reggae-world music. Rolling Stone calls Simien “a zydeco master,” and there is no better way to introduce children to a fun, new music experience especially around Mardi Gras time! Children will recognize Simien’s zydeco music from Disney’s The Princess & The Frog.

Creole for Kidz and the History of Zydeco is part of the Children's Theater Series.


Children Policy:
Children under two years old are generally not permitted in the theaters. At designated performances Children of all ages are permitted. However, everyone regardless of age must have a ticket. All children must be seated with an adult. Any person disrupting a performance or inhibiting the enjoyment of an event for guests may be removed from the theater without refund.

PlayhouseSquare is located in Cleveland's theater district located on Euclid Avenue, between East 14th and East 17th Streets. Where do we park?

The PlayhouseSquare Garage is located at East 15th and Chester with elevators located on each level and a walkway to the complex. PlayhouseSquare has kept event night parking affordable for our customers. Parking can be purchased for the on-site PlayhouseSquare garage for just $12.00 ($10.00 advance purchase). Do you need to purchase tickets by phone or in-person?

The Ticket Office is located in the State Theatre lobby and is open Monday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Hours vary when we have an evening performance and will also vary during the summer months. To confirm operating hours call the Ticket Office information line at 216-771-8403. Tickets may also be purchased by phone Monday - Sunday from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. at 216-241-6000 or 866-546-1353.
