Event Description

Momentum
Choreography, Gladisa Guadalupe

Momentum’s choreography is inspired by the ability to express fast body motion without compromising quality of movement.  Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor is one score that is appropriate for such expression.  Enjoy three movements of pure velocity, inspiring melody and breathtaking tempos.

Le Corsaire, pas de trois
Original choreography, Marius Petipa

A pas de trois between the characters of Medora, The Slave, and the Pirate is among classical ballet’s most famous and performed excerpts.

Don Quixote, pas de deux
Original choreography, Marius Petipa

A pas de deux filled with bravura, exceptional technique and magnificent artistry.

Provocativo
Choreography, Gladisa Guadalupe

Inspired by tango music, Provocativo takes place at a café where dancers, musicians, singers and actors gather together to ‘loosen up’ from their demands as artists, allowing themselves to be exposed to seduction, passion, desire, romance and ultimately to new love adventures.

This one act ballet brings a sublime, sensuous performance to open Cleveland Ballet’s 4th season. Provocativo is an incredible display of playful and skilled choreography executed at fast speed, with impeccably precise, intricate footwork. Julien Labro, world-known bandoneonist as well as well -known musicians will accompany the dancers in this provocative piece.

Seductive and sultry, Provocativo evokes the intoxicating passion of late nights in arts cafes ‚Äčand presents a raw, sophisticated performance that is not to be missed!
