Cuyahoga Arts & Culture
Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s mission is to inspire and strengthen the community by investing in arts and culture. Approved by Cuyahoga County voters in 2006, CAC has invested more than $112 million dollars into 250+ local arts and cultural organizations – including Playhouse Square - since 2007.
“Cuyahoga Arts & Culture proudly supports Playhouse Square,” says Executive Director Karen Gahl Mills. “As an exciting performing arts destination, Playhouse Square provides a tangible benefit to the residents of our County, and CAC is proud to be a part of Playhouse Square’s success in our community.”
In addition to Playhouse Square, CAC supports a broad range of arts programming, such as: (a) Cleveland Public Theatre’s Brick City Education Program (credit: Steve Wagner); (b) Inlet Dance Theater; (c) Art Therapy at the Hospice of the Western Reserve (credit: Bob Perkoski); and (d) The Music Settlement’s JAMS program (credit: Bob Perkoski).
CAC’s vision for its first ten years of public funding is to help build stronger, more resilient arts and culture organizations; create vibrant and energetic neighborhoods infused with culture; and establish Cuyahoga County as a hub of creative activity and a destination for artists.
