Playhouse Square is seeking a team player to work in our beautiful, historic theaters as a member of the theater maintenance team. We require a craftsman with excellent communication skills, is self-motivated, and able to work independently. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills and be part of the region’s destination for entertainment, arts education, and economic development.

Responsibilities

  1. Embrace Playhouse Square values and programs that further Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the department.
  2. Perform various types of repairs and maintenance including, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering, HVAC controls, and roofing.
  3. Set-up and restore areas of Playhouse Square for special events.
  4. Prepare Playhouse Square for routine and special events including: 
    • Turn on and shut off necessary lights.
    • Set interior environment controls and monitor.
    • Open and lock all required doors.
    • Place seating as required.
  5. Maintain Playhouse Square property and equipment.
  6. Assist visitors to Playhouse Square.
  7. Monitor the safety systems of Playhouse Square and enforce all safety procedures and policies.
  8. Maintain stock of tools.
  9. Continually inspect the facility while performing routine assignments.
  10. Maintain flexible schedule as required by activity in Playhouse Square.

Qualifications

  • Vocational or trade school and/or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Ability to physically handle all aspects of the job.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Outgoing, people oriented person with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of current PC hardware and software.
