Waitress National Tour to Premiere at Playhouse Square

Apr 25, 2016

The acclaimed new Broadway musical Waitress, written by five-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles and directed by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus, is hitting the road and will premiere right here at Playhouse Square to open the KeyBank Broadway Series in October 2017.

“Launching the tour of Waitress will be one sweet serving of a show to our audiences at Playhouse Square. We are eagerly awaiting our opportunity to wrap our arms around this gem of a musical. We are so fortunate to continue our relationship with the supremely creative Diane Paulus, who most recently staged Pippin and the upcoming Finding Neverland with us, and to welcome a remarkable new theater voice, Sara Bareilles, who has conquered Broadway as brilliantly as she became one of the most respected and popular musicians today.”

Gina Vernaci, Executive Producer, Playhouse Square

Waitress has already been nominated for four Outer Critics’ Circle Awards (including Outstanding New Broadway Musical) and two Drama League Awards (including Best Musical). For more information about Waitress, visit
