ACTIVITIES

Write your own BARS inspired rap!

First, use the Freestyle Name Generator to find out your rap alter ego. Next, take the Freestyle Name you found, along with your own creativity to fill in the blanks on the Rap Map. You can download your own printable copy of the Rap Map by clicking here. Once you fill in all of the blank spaces, it is your time to shine. Be sure to perform your rap out-loud from the beginning for all to hear!

COARTICULATION

The BARS podcast

Coarticulation (aka "The BARS Podcast") is a limited podcast series that explores the Baldwin Wallace University and Playhouse Square partnership production of BARS, which stands for Beatboxing, Acting, Rapping, and Singing. In this podcast, hosted by Daniel Ruffing and Sarah McCord, various individuals involved with the production of BARS will be interviewed to gain a larger understanding of what it takes to produce a work of theatre during a pandemic.

Behind the Beat: The story of BARS

Behind the Beat: The Story of BARS (aka "The BARS Documentary") is a mini documentary that explores the Baldwin Wallace University and Playhouse Square partnership production of BARS, which stands for Beatboxing, Acting, Rapping, and Singing. Produced, directed and edited by Sarah McCord, the BARS documentary takes viewers behind the scenes of a virtual improv production showing the full timeline from auditions to dress rehearsal, all technical aspects to create the show, and what it was like learning new skills online.
