We are searching for our next Director of Education. This position is responsible for leading the Education department staff in development and implementation of programs for Playhouse Square. 

Responsibilities include:

  1. Direct Education team in development and implementation of assigned programs including: The Dazzle Awards; Disney Musicals in Schools; Outreach; PreK; Virtual and Distance Learning Initiatives.
  2. Serve as the director for all departmental-produced videos, including pre- and post-show workshops for the Children’s Theater Series, Social Justice Series, Family Theater Day, sensory-friendly content, and Disney.
  3. Embrace Playhouse Square values and programs that further Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the department.
  4. Direct the hiring and training of contracted talent, providing mentorship and performance management for assigned staff members.
  5. Oversee day-to-day activities of the department as assigned.
  6. Develop, support and promote relationships with artistic and educational communities in the region; recommend strategic alliances.
  7. With the Vice President, coordinate and implement budget, fundraising and marketing strategies for programs with Playhouse Square Marketing and Development Departments.
  8. Function as department liaison on publications and on-line materials.
  9. Supervise designated department staff.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of ten years’ experience in arts education and four years’ management required.
  2. B.A. or B.F.A. degree in Education, Theater, Arts or commensurate experience.
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Advanced written and communication skills required.
  5. Schedule flexibility.
  6. Knowledge of current PC software.
