Front of House Events Assistant

Playhouse Square is looking for a self-motivated, outgoing, people-oriented person to assist the Front of House Manager with preparing for the events scheduled at the complex on any given day/evening. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Embrace Playhouse Square values and programs that further Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the department.
  2. The primary responsibility would be to assist the Front of House Manager with preparing for the events scheduled at the complex on any given day/evening.
  3. Work with the Front of House Manager and House Managers to insure the Guest Experience is managed efficiently and effectively according to established policy. 
  4. Assist with logistical management of events – make sure the theaters are event ready; coordinating delivery of programs; assisting with set up and ongoing replenishment of house manager’s office. Represent the Front of House Manager at meetings as requested.
  5. Assist with tracking of facility maintenance issues; follow up documentation of incidents.
  6. Compile event summaries and creating house reports for events as requested.
  7. Welcome guests to Playhouse Square.  Be proactive in approaching guests and offering assistance.
  8. House Manage Broadway Buzz preshow talks working closely with the Education team on execution of the event. Serve as a House Manager in the theaters as scheduled.
  9. Create and update Broadway usher instruction sheets.
  10. Assist with Administrative duties.
  11. Assist with training new House Managers.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prefer college level coursework, preferably theatre, arts management, event management, communications or similar field.
  • Knowledge of current PC hardware and software, social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, outgoing, people oriented person with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask.
  • Must be available to work evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
  • Willing and able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
