The Bacchae: Dancing Into Ecstasy is a fresh, electrifying take on Euripides’s timeless drama. Blending contemporary themes, dynamic dance, and pop music, this bold reimagining brings the ancient world into conversation with today. When Dionysus arrives in Thebes, a battle between order and desire erupts, challenging the limits of power, control, and human instinct. Joyful, provocative, and dangerous, The Bacchae asks what happens when we deny the parts of ourselves that refuse to be controlled. Adapted and directed by Toby Vera Bercovici, with choreography by Errin Weaver, and choral music and lyrics by Malik Montgomery.
