Lights, camera, action! It’s time to grab some popcorn and take your seat as Cinema at the Square presented by Medical Mutual makes its return to Playhouse Square this summer. The beloved film series allows guests to enjoy some of their favorite films on a big screen amidst the beauty of the historic Connor Palace -- embracing the nostalgia of the 1950s and 1960s when the venue was one of the premier movie theaters in Downtown Cleveland. Screenings feature classic movie theater concessions along with music on Playhouse Square’s restored 1928 Kimball organ.
Cinema at the Square features 15 classic films that are shown on a big screen using an original 35mm reel-to-reel projector that is operated by a skilled projectionist:

- Sat., July 27, 2 p.m.: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

- Sun., July 28, 2 p.m.: The Iron Giant
- Fri., Aug. 2, 7:30 p.m.: Rebel Without a Cause
- Sat., Aug. 3, 2 p.m.: All About Eve
- Sat., Aug. 3, 7:30 p.m.: Hairspray (1988)
- Sun., Aug. 4, 2 p.m.: The Parent Trap (1998)
- Wed., Aug. 7, 7:30 p.m.: Ever After
- Thurs., Aug. 8, 7:30 p.m.: Some Like It Hot

Tickets are available now at playhousesquare.org/cinema or by calling 216-641-6000. Cinema at the Square tickets are $8, and all films take place in the Connor Palace. Seniors 65 and older can access free tickets for the series courtesy of Medical Mutual. Eligible guests can use the code SENIORS when purchasing online, and they can pick up the tickets at the Playhouse Square box office with a valid ID.
