We are thrillified to be back at our local theaters this fall to catch Wicked: For Good, the enchanting sequel to Wicked that premiered this time last year. Part one of this two-part series closed with the explosive finale that is Defying Gravity, leaving us reeling with anticipation and wonder for what will become of the new Wicked Witch of the West.

A POPULAR PREMEIRE!
Ariana Grande (Glinda) and Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) will be reprising their roles along with the rest of their castmates after Wicked (2024) received a phenomenal audience and critic response, garnering 322 award nominations and 125 wins across the board. Tickets are on sale now for Wicked: For Good this November, and we couldn’t be happier for this wonderful production to grace screens once again.
Some exciting facts you may not know about the upcoming blockbuster:
- Wicked (2024) has earned its spot as the highest grossing musical film adaptation of all time after surpassing $700 million at the global box office.
- Wicked: For Good will feature two new original songs by Stephen Schwartz, each solo pieces for Elphaba and Glinda. These songs are titled “No Place Like Home” and “The Girl in the Bubble.”
- The first trailer for Wicked: For Good received more than 113 million views within the first 24 hours of its online release.
- The sequel to Wicked was originally titled “Wicked: Part Two” before its change to include the title of the dazzling duet “For Good.”
- Dorothy will be making an appearance in Wicked: For Good, however she will play a background role as the story unfolds around her.
CLEVELAND ROOTS
It’s no secret that Wicked is a fan favorite among Cleveland audiences, having toured through Playhouse Square five times since 2006. The show’s source material, The Wizard of Oz, also has a special place in the hearts of Clevelanders as the iconic role of the Wicked Witch of the West was originated by Cleveland’s own Margaret Hamilton.

The love for this misunderstood witch continues to her modern counterpart, as thousands turned up at Blossom Music Center this past July to watch Cynthia Erivo perform alongside the Cleveland Orchestra.
