What We’re Thankful For…

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Playhouse Square. Today offers the perfect moment to pause and reflect on the people, programs, and partnerships that make our district such a vibrant home for the performing arts. This year, we’re thankful for…

Arts & Minds

This year we proudly launched our Arts & Minds initiative. In partnership with Cleveland Clinic, our first program — Dance for Parkinson's — engages people with Parkinson’s and their care partners in uplifting, participant-centered weekly classes. We’re honored to be the first organization in Ohio, and one of only 23 worldwide, licensed as a Dance for PD® affiliate, with classes led by a certified Dance for PD® instructor.

Our RedCoats

Our RedCoat volunteers greet every guest with warmth, pride, and the kind of hospitality that defines the Playhouse Square experience. Their commitment to service elevates every performance and event, and we’re truly thankful for the care and enthusiasm they bring to our theaters year-round.

Tour Launches

This year, we are thankful to have been selected as the launch city for the tours of Hell’s Kitchen and The Notebook, with Spamalot soon to follow. These productions bring national attention to our theater district and reinforce Playhouse Square as a trusted home for launching major theatrical tours. We deeply appreciate the creative teams and productions who choose Cleveland as their starting point.

Our Audiences

Our audiences bring energy, curiosity, and joy into our theaters with every performance. Their support allows us to continue championing the performing arts and offering a warm Cleveland welcome to visiting artists. We’re grateful for the community they create in every seat, every night.

Resident Companies

We are honored to be home to a diverse and inspiring group of resident companies: The City Club of Cleveland, Cleveland Ballet, Cleveland International Film Festival, Cleveland Play House, Cleveland State University Department of Theatre and Dance, DANCECleveland, Great Lakes Theater, and Tri-C JazzFest. Their programming enriches our stages and our community, offering everything from world-class dance to thought-provoking conversations to unforgettable theatrical storytelling. We’re thankful for their artistry and continual partnership.

Our Donors

Our Donors make it possible for us to advance our mission in meaningful and lasting ways. Their generosity supports transformative education programs like Arts & Minds and the Dazzle Awards to the ongoing preservation of our historic theaters. Their belief in our work keeps our district strong, accessible, and forward-looking. We are deeply grateful for every donor who helps nurture the future of the performing arts.

Our District

We are fortunate to be part of a dynamic neighborhood filled with passionate and dedicated people. The residents who call this district home, the restaurateurs and hospitality teams who welcome guests with warmth, and the business tenants who contribute to the vitality of the area all play an essential role in shaping the Playhouse Square experience. We’re thankful for the partnerships, creativity, and community spirit that make the #PSQDistrict a thriving place to live, work, and visit.
